WESTERN MEDICINE
As an MD from Denmark, I am educated in western medicine. I have learned a lot about the body and its functions, and how you find diagnoses and give medicine.
Western doctors is in many way very smart, but the depend on the medical industry which creates a kind of co dependency for both parts. Many doctors have difficulties in keeping a neutrality towards the marketing from the medical industry. I know that, becourse I have worked with public relations for the medical industries for some years. It gave me money for my spiritual search: but that’s not why I did it, I liked to work and think creative.
Western medicine started actually out with discovery of herbs like digitalis towards heart problems, the antibiotic effect of penicillin and the discovery of vaccines, which killed world wide letal infections.
The anatomy was intensenly stydied by Leonardo da Vinci and when the tabu of cutting up dead bodies to study its function, the body soon was mapped in a specific mannor, which surgeons gained big insights from.
The industrial revolution soon started a growing medicine industry, which was based on scientist reasearch into biochemistry and physiologi. The basis knowlwdge of the body awoke scientists eager to influence the body in chemical ways.
The cell function, the enzymes and neurotransmitters path, the immune systeme, endocrine function etc al came “into the microscope” tested in the laboratory and on animals, so before long effective medicine was marked, that could influence body functions in many ways.
The medical industrial revolution improved health in an overall schedule and still research takes many new ways and makes progress; but it has not brought so much satisfaction to people, that maybe could be expected. What it brought up is the look at people as mashines, who´s motor you can turn up and up by keeping stimulating it in new ways. The result – stress – is the great killer in these days – and stress arises from exactly – unbalance.
There is many ways stress can be induced by the modern living, to much work, work out of home and in home simustaneusly, high performance levels on any arey – jobs, sport, parenting, having nice homes etc etc; and if you look into the medical area, modern treatment takes the body out of balance as well
Western medicine is concentrated about an exact diagnose in a part of the body. Much work and money is spend to find this diagnose, and the treatment is directed towards exactly that. The thinking that the symptom can appear from an unbalance in other parts of the body does not appear. Thinking is linear and goes: Symptom, confirmation of symptom –medicin or surgery – healed!
Well much healing takes place in western medicin; I myself would be bad with oug the Mepron malaria medicin and Citromax/tetracycline antibiotics; and simultaneously strong chinese medicine agains parasites and cleaning the liver cures endorsed it.
The problem with western is several: Western doctors (exept my doctors in California Eric Gordon and Wayne Andersen) cannot see diaese in the wholeness perspective. That means, that is a diseased I coursed by an imbalance in the meridians or the vata dossiers (in the bottumline the same) symtoms will come back, maybe in another form but they will come back.
So again: It´s all about love and attetntion - Love to your selv, love to the other - and love to attention of being. Dont forget that, but FEEL it. Thats`s the secrect.
