Main objectives

  • To provide the street boys and girls with the necessary skills & emotional support.
  • To guard the natural environment, and to follow internationally accepted, best practices in all development projects.

Their Skills

Between 2014 and 2017 most of the boys in Lifters Rangers were students at Emmanuel Arts Skills Center. Here they learned to make art out of natural fibres, such as banana leaves and sisal and they also learned to make juwelry out of beads.

Today at Lifters Rangers Skills Center the boys are being taught how to make Manila bags, which can be sold easily to the shops around town, since the Kenyan government banned all plastic bags from the shops, in 2017.
Along with this they are also being taught how to make colourfull art/toys using old, thrown-away slippers, by local artists.
The students are also shown how to shop for materials, as well as conversing with costumers and selling their crafts to bigger companies - in order for them to make it on their own once they feel ready for it.

Other than the crafts, the boys are being mentored and supported in their everyday lifestyle, as many of them have had a hard youth up untill now - the volunteers give them life skills to better their own development, and they offer emotional support as well as guidance in all manners possible.
