This morning Sarah (one of the girls I met at the photography workshop) and I went to the beach to see the sunrise! At 4.15am I left my hotel and on a rented bike, met with Sarah outside her hotel and then we cycled the 4km to the beach where we had saw the most amazing sunrise. Not only was the sunrise itself beautiful but the life that was going on was enchanting! By 5.30 the beach was absolutely packed with Vietnamese people doing their morning exercise - and not just a few stretches here and there, no they were doing sit ups, running, swimming, stretching and doing yoga like movements. It was amazing to see the amount of people there, I'd say there were more people that morning than I saw the previous afternoon when the beach was full of tourists but by 6.30 the beach was completely clear and Sarah and I had the whole beach to ourselves. The guide from the workshop had suggested that we tried working with silhouettes and low light conditions (which came natural as it was morning) so below is a few of the photos I took this morning (I must admit that we were so fascinated by the whole experience that we didn't take as many good photos as we would have liked to but it was just so funny to watch all the locals).
A little lake on the way to the beach at 4.50am!
By this time the beach was empty and we just relaxed on the beach for a few hours before cycling home to get a nap. Definitely an experience that can be recommended to other people visiting Hoi An even if not for the photography then just to see all [...]the life. Read more...↑
