Grow smart

It is great fun and exciting to brew beer – but which considerations are needed to take before making beer brewing “a real business” – or making your business grow the best way – and what is technically needed when it grows? At this 2 days course we focus one day on the business part and one day on technical matters related to expand breweries:

Day 1: Business part
Entrepreneurship – what kind of entrepreneur are you – and how does it influence your business building.
• What does business understanding mean?
• Strategi work –what does it take – and how do you tackle it? We look at vision, mission og values as well as specific tools.
• 2 cases from the craft world – you meet the entrepreneurs, and have the opportunity to ask them questions
• Management – and different roles to play.
• PR and communication versus commercials – what to do?

Day 2:
The technical part of Grow Smart will focus on the following:
• How do you calculate your need for capacity?
• How do you use your present capacity in the best way?
• Which part of the brew process is the most feasible to extend in the first place?
• How do you organize production to exploit your employees in the best way?

The course is build up around a case. A microbrewery need to be extended from its present capacity to a future larger capacity within a period. The course participants will make calculations and considerations for the scenario based upon the theory presented.

Who will benefit?
Brewers from craft breweries, who consider expanding their business and private brewers who consider to start business.

What is required?
We require no technical background from brewing.
