Tam Coc means the three caves and three caves is exactly what you get (and a lot more) to see when spending a day in the area Tam Coc just outside Ninh Binh. The three natural caves (Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Han Ba) are seen from a small rowing boat sailing along the Ngo Dong River. The route begins at the village of Van Lam and proceeds through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst formations. The rowers are unfortunately not very friendly and are rather pushy for you to buy all sorts of overpriced souvenirs but forgetting that part Tam Coc is definitely worth a visit!!
