This weekend I went to Penang where I on the first day got to take part in the Heritage Festival, see the Kek Lok Si Temple and visit the top of Penang hill. Below are some of the photos from my first day
Heading off to Penang, enjoying a bit of sun before boarding the bus
Roommate guesthouse Penang! A really, really lovely little guesthouse - clean, tidy, amazing people, super helpful staff and great, big, comfy beds

Kek Lok Si Temple seen from the little town Air Itam
It is not only Indonesia that have forest fires - Penang itself is contributing to the thick haze that surrounds the island....
The next few photos are from the Kek Lok Si Temple
Malaysia's take on "have-nisser" - I want one!!
Narrow walkway down from the temple - I closed my eyes and tried not to look too much at the stuff because it won't fit into my bag so NO IMPULSE BUYS!!!
Air Itam's busy, busy street
Penang hill
Penang hill's funicular - a fun and very fast trip, the funicular climbs the 821m in only a few minutes
The haze was thick but it was a lovely temperature and the haze wasn't low enough to cause any breathing issues so besides ruining the photos it was actually quite nice!
Night life in Georgetown! A visit to the "Georgetown Heritage Festival"
