The Alphabet King stories are designed to help children make the connection between the sound and the shape of a letter, assisting their reading and writing. There is one story for each letter. Stories about joined up writing, making words and alphabetical order are also included.
It is based on a powerful educational concept, that has been used in Norwegian schools for years, and is now renewed and illustrated to inspire even more children. Trials have shown that children who have struggled to learn letters and sounds, grasp it with the Alphabet King.
The Alphabet King has a mission to share these stories with all the children in the world, in their local language. Profits from the sales will go to educational programmes related to The Alphabet King in developing countries. Essentially, by buying Alphabet King products, you are investing in children’s education around the world.
The Alphabet King comes in three formats:
App - available at the AppStore. On the app, alongside the stories, there are games to test memory, to practise writing and to create your own stories from the world of Alphabet Land. You will also find a cartoon about the alphabet and a song to learn, which has been written by the band ‘A1’ to support the project.
The Alphabet King book - coming soon - also includes 340 amazing illustrations.
Audio Book - available on itunes. You will notice that the stories in the audio book are not in the normal alphabetical order. This is because they reflect the learning order used in schools. Children are taught the letters s, a, t, p, i and n first, so the first stories in The Alphabet King audio book are about these letters.
