It actually all started as a joke, but ended up with us having to get our hands on a metal detector.

History class never really captured me, because whenever we talked about the old days in school, nobody in the area could talk about things further back than Tordenskjold.

I’ve always had the idea that there must have been something predating Tordenskjold, and this is where it all began.

When we started walking around with metal detectors, it was mostly to get away from everyday life and at the same time get a lot of fresh air.

But a few hours afterwards we found the first skilling, which we brought home so we could figure out its origin and how it had ended up in the Strandby area.

This is where treasure hunting started for real!
