Legipid – Legionella
Legipid is not an ISO standard test for Legionella, but it is verified by AOAC International and it is based on ISO.
11731. This method is a quick method (two hours) based on filtering, immunomagnetic reaction with a Legionella-antigene and demonstration by a colorimetric reaction. The sensitivity is 43 CFU/I.
As Legionella in bathing water can cause hazard of health, it is beneficial to test the water for Legionella.
There is no legal requirements regarding Legionella in hot water systems, but the National Serum Institute of Denmark have prepared recommendations on how much Legionella there can be in the system before one must react.
