Illuminaut was founded by Jørgen Jakob Friis. Previously he has worked in the IT industry as a programmer, systemsdesigner and project manager for a period of nine years.
Since then he has worked within the area of robotics. Including a position as department manager for the international robot festival in Odense.
During his work in the area of robotics, he has also developed a row of contacts among japanese robot scientists and companies. These contacts have been the basis for some cases where Illuminaut have worked on promoting the use of japanese robot technology in Denmark.
Jørgen Jakob Friis have also worked at the University of Southern Denmark, building a network for Active Living Technologies.

The other main person in Illuminaut is Solveig Vendelbo who is a master of Japanese and Economics. She has worked for four years in Japan, and have since then gained expereince as a project manager and self-employed consultant of E-learning.
Illuminaut also works with a close network of market leading specialists in the area of CE marking and product legislation, design, styling, test desing, product marketing and health care related assesment.
In this network you will find people with experience in the areas of ingenieering, teaching and nursing as well as experts with years of experience in communication, project management, leadership, ideation, design and techological trouble shooting. Also people with skills in Japanese translation and cultural consultancy assistance can be found.
We include these contacts in each project if and when relevant in order to design the optimal team for your case.

Additionally Jørgen Jakob Friis is also a teacher of the japaneses style of budo (martial art) called Aikido. He is the founder and main teacher of Vestfyn Aikikai.
Where
Illuminaut is placed in the center of Denmark on the island of Fyn, close to the freeway, close to Odense and within a few hours distance to Aarhus, Copenhagen and Germany.
