Sammy was found on the street almost 2 years ago, extremely malnourished and scared. He is now 3 years old and 20 kg. He is in a fosterhome in Norway with another dog, a cat and is also getting used to horses :) His fostermom has a blogg with lots of information about Sammy(she calls him Viktor) its in Norwegian.

 

Sammy is an easy dog to have off-leash and will always check to see where you are, he walks nicely on the leash. He is used to travelling in the car and does so without any problems, and will lay down until the trip is done. Sammy does not respond well to a harsh tone and will turn into a tiny little lump on the floor, he is a really quick learner and enjoys training with positive reinforecment. Sammy is looking for an active home, with understanding people who will scratch his nose and let him lay on top of you in the couch ;)

Collette

Jason
Gender: Male
Age: 1 year old

Jason is in kenneling awaiting to come to his fosterhome very soon, we do not know much about him yet, but he is a gentle little dog that can be a bit careful in new surroundings. More info will be up when we get to know him :)

Bugsy
Gender: Male
Age: approx. 2 years old

Breed: Beagle
Castrated: Yes

Bugsy was found on the side of the road in very poor condition, as can be seen in the photos.  Despite his poor condition he is a very happy little dog which loves people, and he behaved very well when he was taken to the vet. He is in temporary fostering with another dog and a cat, and is friendly to them. He is calm in the apartment, and is easy to care for.

 

Donovan

Age: 3-4 year old
Weight: approx. 10 kg
Breed: Puli

Donovan was found living on the streets in a terrible condition. He was immediately given a hair cut, and a well needed bath. His fur was in such a bad condition it took the assistant at the clinic two hours to get it done. Donovan was being incredibly patient.

He is a calm and friendly dog. Walks nicely on the lead, very curious. He is a happy guy who does not scare easily. Donovon is an outgoing, happy little boy who loves attention! Friendly towards both dogs and people and is looking for his final home.

Ps: He is going to get a proper haircut soon :)

Myra

Myra is a gentle and lovable girl, who loves human affection. She can be timid if not treated gently, and would benefit from a calm loving environment.  She is a fun little dog and she is quick to show when she happy.  She gets on well with other dogs, both male and female, and will for be a wonderful companion for her adoptive parents.

 

Luke

Luke was found alone outside a petrol station. He is a timid boy but is gaining confidence in his fosterhome where he lives with other dogs and several cats. He is scared of men,  He is a quiet boy that needs an understanding home since we believe he may have been abused in the past.  He likes other dogs and you will fall madly in love with him if you give him the chance :) 

Bernie
Gender: Male
Age: born around May, 2011
Weight: approx. 13kg
Breed: mix
Castrated: No  

Bernie was rescued from the streets along with his mother. Bernie is a sweet boy but very shy and needs time to get to trust people. He has lived with other dogs and gets on well with them. He does not approach people easily but we are sure that the right home can bring him out of himself.

Mikey
Gender: Male

Mikey is a happy, energetic young dog, that behaves like a big funny clown! He gets perfectly fine along with other dogs, and  is happily wagging his tail whenever someone is visiting. He is easily trained, and knows the commands "sit" and "lay down" by now. He can be off the leash, but as a young dog, he gets easily distracted and focused on more "interesting" things. 

Mikey is looking for a home with someone that likes the active outdoor life, and that will stimulate and challenge his true nature!

Sara was living in a garden with her Mother, siblings and several other dogs.  The family had too many dogs and the local municipality demanded that some be either re-homed or put to sleep, so we took her on along with her Mother and 2 sisters.  

Sara  is blind in one eye from an injury, but it requires no medical treatment and she can live a normal life. She is very friendly and has adapted well to living in the city with her fosterparents. She is house trained and can be left home alone with no problems. She walks nicely on or off the leash and gets on well with other dogs and also cats.

Billy

Dougal

Dougal is a sweet natured and absolutely beautiful boy who came to the attention of Budadogs via another organization who had seen him in a shelter in Eger and asked us to help. He had been dumped there by an unscrupulous breeder along with his brothers and sisters because of a treatable skin condition which has now cleared up – the breeder simply didn’t want to spend the extra money on medicine.  The shelter was built for 40 dogs, but now houses 140 in deeply unsanitary conditions, and since the puppies were not vaccinated the rest of the litter died. Dougal somehow survived long enough for us to take him.

Dougal has gained confidence since we have had him but is still somewhat shy with people. He is great with other dogs and gets on well with both male and females of all ages / sizes.  This lovely boy badly needs a kind understanding home where he can continue to learn to trust people in a calm and gentle environment.  He is a young dog who will give many years of pleasure and devoted companionship to his new family. The breed is known to be loyal guardians of the family.

Charlie

Charlie was found in a ditch in a forest between two villages, most likely dumped by his previous owners.

He is a calm and loving dog that loves people, even strangers. Charlie is ok with being left home alone, but will howl the first few minutes before he settles down, when you return to the house Charlie will greet you with a Husky "Speech". A happy dog that loves water, driving in a car, and enjoys being around other dogs. Charlie is obedient and walks nicely on he lead, since he is "always hungry" as his fosterdad puts it, Charlie is easy to train :) When in the garden he will bark if anyone passes, but never aggressively and loves them as soon as he realizes they are visitors. He will chase cats if given the opportunity, and small animals, but scared of sheep, cattle and other bigger animals. Charlie is in general a very calm and easy going dog. He doesn't jump or get excited when he meet people, and he usually just walks around sniffing when he is off the lead. He can even decide to just lie down and watch the other dogs play. 
Charlie is good with children. He will fit into most households. Not afraid of big cities.

John
Gender: Male (castrated)
Age: 1-2 years old
Weight: 21kg

John has been on a chain since he was a puppy, and we sorely want to offer him a better life in a safe home. John is a very devoted and kind dog, with a good temper. He has been living with three other dogs and he gets on very well with all of them. Never initiated any problems or fights, even when two dogs turned against each other he remained calm. John has never lived with children before, but has been tested with them and his reaction was good. John did not jump, and was very friendly with them. John is a soft dog who is very eager to learn, He is housetrained and he does not mark everywhere when out for a walk, and as it says above, he gets along with all dogs that he meets. John is a joy to have around you, and such a sweet loving dog!

Fendi
Gender: Male (castrated)

Fendi is a happy, energetic and outgoing dog. He has lived with other dogs and gets on well with them.  He is housetrained and walks well on the leash.  Fendi would like an active family if possible, but is happy to live in an apartment.  For the right owner, Fendi will be a super dog. 

Kristian
Gender: Male
Age: 5-7 years old
Weight: 20 kg
Breed: Shepherd mix
Castrated: Yes

Kristian is a soulful and friendly, calm dog. He gets on well with other female dogs but has some difficulties with males, he is currently living with a puppy and behaves very well towards her. He is old at heart, but it is nearly impossible to know his age, because he has lost several of his teeth, and many of the remaining teeth are ruined probably because of him chewing his chain or rocks.

Kristian is not an active dog and needs an owner who wants a stroll round the park rather than a jogging companion. He is used to apartment life and likes to sleep most of the day.

We would love this old gentleman to go to a kind, loving home where he can live out his days in the comfort he deserves.

Truls 
Gender: Male
Age: approx. 4 years old

Truls was rescued from Illatos, the municipal dog pound, in september 2009. He had been confiscated by the police from an apartment in Budapest with 10 of his siblings. They had been left there for a month with no food. Accordingly Truls was extremely thin when he came to us. His body was also covered in lesions and patches and he was microfilaria repens positive. All of these health problems have been successfully treated and he is now a healthy normal dog.
Truls is clicker trained and can do all the basic commands, and some tricks like balancing a treat on his nose and bow down to people. Truls is a very affectionate boy who loves to get cuddles. He is good with dogs.  This hansome boy loves all people as long as they pet him and preferably have him on their lap :)  Truls really deserves a second chance at a happy life and will be a devoted companion to his adopters.

Toby
Gender: Male
Age: 2-3 years old

Breed: labrador, terrier mix

Toby  has lived as a wild dog with his (presumably) mother, father and sister and was rescued by Budadogs from a site on the outskirts of the city. He is a timid boy who lived inside with the owner of the kennel and his family while receiving medical treatment and behaved very well even when the treatment was causing him some pain.  He is nervous of new people but very friendly when he comes to trust someone. He will benefit from time in fostering where he can learn how to live in a city and become more confident.

 

Pedro
Gender: Male
Age: 6 -7 years
Weight: 16 kg
Breed: Dachs mix
Castrated: Yes

Pedro was found tied to a tree where he was abandoned. He had already been observed over a longer period of time and was rescued by an organisation who asked us to take him because they had too many dogs already.
Pedro is a kind, sweet dog which loves human affection. He is happily wagging his tail when someone is visiting, even if he has never met the person before. He is living together with other dogs, and he is doing very well. One of the dogs in his pack gets epileptic seizures from time to time, and when she does, Pedro is the only dog which stays calm and give her some distance. He is also very gentle with puppies. He let them jump onto him, and sometimes he is playing with them like he was a puppy himself. Pedro's pack does also consist of a cat, and he couldn't behave better towards it. He doesn't mind being home alone. Pedro has never got used to the city life, and needs a home in the countryside where he can live in a calm non-stressful environment. He is afraid of very load noises like fireworks.

Pedro is good with other animals, and has even been observed lying a whole day in the garden with 4 chickens for company!

 

Trond

Balder is a fun, outgoing puppy who loves everyone! He is the largest of the puppies from Imelda`s litter, all of whom were rescued by us in September along with their mother, Imelda. 

Balder is  a very charming dog who loves people, including strangers.  He gets on well with other dogs and plays well with them in the park.  He can be left home alone and is used to living in an apartment. He really is a bundle of joy; full of kindness, love and kisses! 

Heidi

Heidi is sweet but shy girl who is living in a knowledgeable fosterhome where she has gained confidence and is beginning to learn to trust people. She would benefit from a kind and calm home where she can continue this process.

Marlon Brando
Gender: Male
Age: 1 year old
Weight: approx. 20kg
Breed: Viszla mix
Castrated: Yes  

Marlon Brando was caught in a dog-trap outside a village on the 3rd of December. The traps function is to capture stray and unwanted dogs so they can be put down. Marlon had been straying the village for around 3 months when he got caught, and a family living near the trap happened to come upon him. They took him out of the trap, where he surely would be shot by locals or put down by the dog catcher, and contacted the local rescue organization asking them to help. Our attention was brought to the situation, and we took him into our care. 
Marlon is a absolutely adorable, kind, affectionate and loving boy. He gets along well with other dogs.
