Search & Preview / Product Brief / Preview in SharePoint Document Libraries
A new visual user interface to SharePoint
Document Libraries in SharePoint provide an overview of document lists, which is great if you know which document you need and where in the SharePoint hierarchy it is located. Preview in Document Libraries adds a new dimension to the SharePoint user interface by making it much more user friendly for browsing and accessing information in SharePoint.
  Enable search in Document Libraries
Search functionality in SharePoint is most often thought of as a separate user context created around a SharePoint Search Center user interface. With the right preview solution, you can enable search directly within the Document Library context empowering end-users to analyze and evaluate relevancy of documents without the need to leave the Document Library.

Inspect documents without downloading them
Without a preview solution, users are forced to download content from SharePoint to their local device in order to inspect if a given document is useful to them. This leads to trial and error probing to find information and ultimately leads to end-user frustration with SharePoint.
Read documents without the client applications
Documents of many different file formats are stored in SharePoint. When working with documents other than MS Office files, there is often a problem for all users to view and read them due to SP OOB (Out of the box) limitations. However, with a comprehensive preview solution the client application is not required and users can easily read any off the 500 file formats supported without the need for the corresponding client application to be installed on the device viewing the content. This becomes extremely important when accessing the SP search environment from mobile device.
